Library!
Library Hours: 7:40 A.M. - 2:25 P.M.
Library Schedule: Each class has an assigned weekly library time for book checkout and a read aloud. In addition, there are several open book shopping times available to students each day.
Checkout Policy: The number of materials checked out is dependent upon the grade level of the student and whether it is the first or second half of the school year. Checked out materials are available on a two week loan.
- Bright Stars & ECSE: One book per weekly library visit.
- Kindergarten: One book per weekly library visit.
- 1st grade: One book per weekly library visit first half of the school year; two books per weekly library visit second half of the school year.
- 2nd-4th grade: Two books per weekly library visit.
- 5th grade: Two books per weekly library visit first half of the school year; three books per weekly library visit second half of the school year.
Graphic Novels: Due to the popularity of our graphic novels, students are only permitted to check out one graphic novel at a time so that a larger number of students are able to enjoy them throughout the school year.
Responsible Reading: In a library that serves students ranging in ages from four to twelve, a wide variety of materials are needed. What is interesting and appropriate for a four-year-old may not be interesting and/or appropriate for a twelve-year-old and vice versa. Mrs. Bailey's advice to students is: "If you choose a book that makes you uncomfortable or that would make an adult in your life uncomfortable, please return it and make a different selection." The beauty of libraries is that they are all about choice. Students are encouraged to select books they can completely enjoy.

Families: We are always in need of volunteers to help set up, run, and break down our book fairs. Please contact our PTA President, Mrs. Cindy Klapmust (greergeckospta@gmail.com) for more information.
